All I wanted was a short session with my kids because it has been five years since I last took their pictures as siblings. Every year I do a family session and individuals but not always siblings. So I thought, “Perfect! They will all be home for Easter so why not do one then?”
The last couple of weeks we have had some very beautiful days off and on. Temps in the 60’s and 70’s. Everyone knows that Easter weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm. Right? Well, not this weekend. I had planned these pictures for yesterday and it was really my only chance but the weather was less that ideal. Initially it was cloudy and felt quite cold but then the sun came out and warmed things up every-so-slightly. Still, with 20 mph winds, the high 30’s seemed a lot colder. I almost called it off in a fit of frustration. But I’m so glad I didn’t because though I only got a handful of shots, they turned out as beautifully as I had hoped.
Of course, we had to drive 10 miles out of town to a friend’s house in hopes of finding some reprieve from the wind, which we did. Funny, once the wind was blocked it was actually quite beautiful. And then we woke up to a couple of inches of snow this morning. I guess there is always something positive you can find even in the cool, windy days.
